Born on the plain streets of Nelspruit, Mpumalanga with a dream of
celebrating and sharing African stories with the masses, Dithapelo began
her journey at AFDA (The school of motion picture medium and live
performance) in 2008.
As a Producer, Dithapelo’s strongest assest is her ability to identify content which has prospect for business success while being suitable for contemporary audiences. Dithapelo is currently completeing her Masters of Fine Art in Film at AFDA.
Having produced several award winning films most notably “The Hajji” which was nominated for best student film at the DIFF (Durban International Film Festival) as well as scooping the prestigious Silver Lorrie in the student category for the Ster-Kinekor commercial “Thato.” Dithapelo is a diligent filmmaker and a career woman who is business minded. This is evident in her punctuality regardless of pressure. Her will
to succeed makes her a driven being. Dithapelo is open to grow as a female filmmaker and one day solidify her name as an industry pioneer. Her greatest hope is to go home and introduce the art of filmmaking to young great minds. EARTH without ART is just EH
